365 Screen Time blocks apps on your phone. Almost everything it needs to do that stays on your phone, and the parts that reach our server are listed here in full.
What never leaves your phone
- Which apps and websites you block, on iPhone. Apple gives the app opaque tokens rather than app names, and they never reach our server. The list of apps a person wants to be away from is the most sensitive thing we could hold, so on iPhone we do not hold it — the backup keeps only how many apps a rule covered.
- The question on your pause screen is yours to keep local or to back up — it is one of the settings below, and only reaches us if you are signed in.
- What you actually do on your phone. We never see your screen, your messages, your notifications or the contents of any app. On Android the accessibility service reads one thing: the package name of the app in the foreground. Nothing else.
- Your age band, your name and your own estimate from onboarding. They are used to draw one screen and they stay on the device.
What we store, if you have an account
An account starts out anonymous: the app registers your device and gets a token, with no email and no name. Signing in attaches an identity to that same account. We hold:
- Your email address, and a password only if you chose email sign-in. With Apple or Google we store the identifier they give us, and the address only if they vouch for it.
- A backup of your rules — the kind of rule, its name, its limits, its
hours and its days, so a new phone can get them back. On iPhone you re-pick the apps,
because Apple's app tokens cannot be moved between devices. On Android the
backup also holds the package names of the apps each rule covers (for example
com.instagram.android), so a reinstalled phone needs no re-picking. Only the latest copy is kept, and deleting your account deletes it. - Your settings, from a fixed list our server knows by name.
- Your garden's record — which days you kept, and what you planted.
- Your devices: platform, app and OS version, when each was last seen, and a one-way hash of its access token. Never its name, never an advertising id.
- Your subscription, as the App Store or Google Play reported it: the product, the store's own transaction identifier, the status and the dates. We never see your card.
What we measure
A small number of counted events — a rule created, a pause resolved, a day scored, a paywall shown — with no app names, no website addresses, no text you wrote and nothing from your screen. We use them to tell whether the app is working, not to profile you. We do not sell data, we run no advertising, and there are no third-party trackers or advertising SDKs in the app.
Who else sees anything
- Apple and Google handle every payment and tell us whether a subscription is live. Their own privacy policies apply to the purchase.
- Our hosting and email providers process data on our behalf, under contract, only to run the service.
- The 365 Growth Bundle, if your premium comes from it: a single read-only check of whether your account is covered.
- Nobody else. We do not sell or share personal data, and nothing about you is ever shown to another user — the app has no social features by design.
Keeping it, and deleting it
We keep what is above while your account exists. You can delete your account in the app, under Settings › Account, or on this page if you no longer have the app installed. Deleting is immediate and permanent.
One thing survives a deletion, and only one: the record of a purchase the App Store or Google Play told us about — the product, the store's transaction identifier, the status and the dates — detached from your identity. We keep it because a refund has to stay a refund: without it, the same purchase restored on a new account would hand back premium that was already refunded. It carries no email address, no name and no device.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Only the store you bought it from can do that, and the app tells you where.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deletion is a button, in the app and on this site. For anything else, write to [email protected] and we will answer within 30 days. If you are in the UK or the EEA, our basis for holding the account data above is performing the service you asked for, and for the purchase record, our legitimate interest in an accurate billing history.
Children
365 Screen Time is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. Older students are welcome — the app collects nothing that would make that worse, and has no social features, no public profiles and no messaging.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the app will say so rather than quietly updating a date. Questions: [email protected].
